Transform your walls with the ombré technique

Transform your walls with the gradient technique

If you observe closely, you may come to the conclusion that walls are true blank canvases where you can capture your art and creativity on a large scale.

There are many painting techniques and special effects you can use to bring walls to life. In this case, we will opt for the gradient, or ombre effect; that is, colors will be combined and applied linearly to create the design of a beautiful sunrise.

You can create this delicate and balanced mural with your own hands by following this step-by-step guide.

Materials:

- Stain Killer primer ¼ gal

- Super Coat white paint ¼ gal

Colors used

-Belize Breeze 102-1

-Pleasant View 102-5

-Beacon Hill 102-8

- 6 standard 1” paintbrushes

-Spray bottle

- ¼ gallon container

- 3M brand 150-grit wood sandpaper

Steps:

1. Clean the surface with a damp cloth to remove any dirt and then dry thoroughly.

2. Apply a coat of Stain Killer wood primer and let it dry for one hour.

3. After that time, sand the entire surface. Once finished, clean the wall again to remove any sanding residue.

4. Paint the wall by creating three horizontal stripes of the same size, one stripe for each color.

5. Using the spray bottle and a new paintbrush, dampen the areas between the colors. This will allow you to fade the tones and create a transition effect between them.

6. Repeat step 5 and let it dry for 90 minutes.

With a brush and paint, transform your home's walls. Do it yourself!
