February 2021. Remember Santa's Workshop? We talked about the "Ayudar es Sencillo" (Helping is Simple) project that brought happiness to thousands of children in the communities of Belén, Curridabat, Desamparados, Escazú, Tibás, and La Carpio through the delivery of more than 6,000 toys.
Santa's Workshop, which initially operated from October to December 2020, is an example of projects that transcend, due to their continuity and social impact.
A group of female heads of households decided to continue toy production, turning the opportunity into a new tool to support their homes in La Carpio.
Through the Sifais Foundation, SIFAISSORI was recently inaugurated, an enterprise dedicated to the production of Montessori-style toys.
The first beneficiary of the toy production is the Montessori Sifais, a daycare center that opened in the community on January 18, 2021, which educates and feeds 50 children daily, ranging in age from 18 months to 6 years old.
This venture serves a triple purpose: promoting training and generating supplementary income for women with low levels of schooling in La Carpio; aiding in the development of children through interaction with wooden toys; and serving as a source of self-sustainability for the Montessori Sifais Program.
As you can see, "Ayudar es Sencillo" is a program that transcends time and positively impacts the lives of hundreds of people. Let's keep supporting these projects that, as Epanos, fill us with pride!
